All aspects of the Johnson Center participate in programming which contributes to the mission. Therefore, programs carried out in the center must meet an appropriate combination of the following criteria:

Programs collaboratively designed and implemented which involve appropriate combinations of faculty members, student services professionals, librarians, auxiliary enterprise staff, students, and community resource persons.

Programs addressing appropriate combinations of undergraduate and graduate students; several grade levels among undergraduates; residents and commuters; experienced professionals, faculty members, and staff; students varying in age, gender and national origin, and ethnicity.

Programs offered by individuals which provide unique experiences not otherwise available.

Programs providing opportunities to combine abstract concepts and concrete experiences, as well as reflection and active experimentation.

Programs encouraging collaborative learning among participants.

Programs incorporating diverse technological resources and applications.
Programs that involve substantial use of center resources over an extended period of time should address more of these criteria than short-term programs requiring limited resources.
